Fanad Lighthouse was built by George Halpin and today serves as a helicopter base for the service and maintenance of all lighthouses along the northern coast. The lighthouse is now one of the main discovery points along the Wild Atlantic way and plans to develop the out-buildings into self catering units are well underway.
